Ga. Commissioner Calls on Companies to Expedite Storm Damage Claims
Georgia Insurance Commissioner John Oxendine has called on the state’s insurance companies to expedite storm damage claims – estimated at $2.5 million – resulting from deadly tornadoes earlier in the week in Mitchell and Worth counties.
Oxendine visited the affected counties to assess the damage and meet with victims. He also dispatched specialists from his Consumer Services Division to the area to assist victims with their insurance needs.
Reports are that the storms that rolled through South Georgia resulted in at least six deaths and severe property damage. Approximately 160 homes were damage or destroyed.
