ADESA Birmingham Honored
ADESA Birmingham received a Commendation Award from the Business Council of Alabama (BCA).
An annual competition hosted by the BCA, the Awards program recognizes the organization’s members who demonstrate and promote safety in the workplace. The Awards were presented recently at the Birmingham Marriott.
“We are very proud to receive such an honor,” said Billy Noles, general manager for ADESA Birmingham. “This was a team effort where ADESA Birmingham employees were conscious of their surroundings and aware of their actions in an effort to reinforce safety as a standard business practice at the auction.”
Over 100 entries were received, in various categories and ADESA Birmingham was one of 76 companies to receive the coveted Commendation Award in the category recognizing companies with 250-499 employees. Entries were judged on workplace safety programs, OSHA compliance and the number of recordable claims reported in 2002.
“Even in today’s challenging economic environment, Alabama businesses and industries are staying focused on the importance of effective workplace safety programs,” said BCA president, William Canary. “Companies like ADESA Birmingham know that safe work places translate into stronger employee relations, greater productivity, healthier workers, and bottom-line cost savings. We’re proud to count ADESA Birmingham amongst our membership.”
ADESA Birmingham is located on 130 acres in Moody, Ala. and opened its doors in 1987.
