Ga. Commissioner Rules Fire Arson
Georgia Insurance and Safety Fire Commissioner John Oxendine said a fire that destroyed a business and a church in downtown Cordele last week was arson.
The fire at the Exchange Mart building, 132 W. 11th Avenue, started in Dennard’s Used Furniture Store, Oxendine said. The fire spread to the Saint King’s Missionary Church, which was located in an adjacent building.
Rewards of up to $10,000 are given for information leading
to the arrest and conviction of an arsonist. No property damage amount has been released.
