W. Va. WCC Files Suit Against Employers
West Virginia’s Workers’ Compensation Commission recently filed injunctions against two state employers whose accounts with the Commission are reportedly in default.
Injunctions were filed in Kanawha County Circuit Court against the following:
* James Robert Evans, Jr., d.b.a. Evans Sales, a Logan County upholstering business, owes back premiums, interest and penalties totaling $43,631.79; and
* ETI Construction Inc., a Jackson County iron and steel erection business, owes back premiums, interest and penalties totaling $41,199.64.
Workers – Compensation Commission Executive Director Gregory Burton said the Commission will continue initiating litigation involving delinquent businesses throughout the state to help assure everyone pays their fair share.
The injunctions call for the firms to cease business.
