Deadline for Miss. Blue Roof Maintenance Requests is Nov. 30
The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (USACE) will take requests until Nov. 30 for maintaining temporary Blue Roofs on structures damaged by Hurricane Katrina.
All eligible maintenance requests received prior to close of business on Nov. 30 will be completed by contractors, according to the Department of Homeland Security’s Federal Emergency Management Agency , Mississippi Emergency Management Agency and the USACE.
Maintenance requests can be submitted by calling 1-888-ROOF-BLU (1-888-766-3258). This notice applies only to those who submitted a request for a Blue Roof before the Nov. 11 deadline.
Corps contractors will continue to place plastic sheeting on roofs for those who had signed a Right of Entry (ROE) form by Nov. 11. Contractors will continue working until all ROE requests have been addressed. This assistance is free. Anyone who requests payment for such work should be reported to local law enforcement.
New requests for temporary roofing will not be accepted by the call-in center. However, special needs requests can be submitted to the Mississippi Donations Hotline by calling 1-866-230-8930 for consideration.
