W. Va. Hosting Workers Comp Training Sessions
The Offices of the Insurance Commissioner of West Virginia in cooperation with the National Council on Compensation Insurance (NCCI), will hold training sessions around the state on development of workers’ compensation premiums and experience rating calculations. The half-day sessions are for agents and employers.
“Agents and employers are invited to join the Offices of the Insurance Commissioner and NCCI in opening the doors to a new approach in our workers’ compensation market that reflects national standards and procedures,” West Virginia Insurance Commissioner, Jane L. Cline said. “The NCCI classification system provides a larger diversity of classifications that are more uniform with our bordering states. Thiswill prove invaluable when West Virginia opens the worker’s compensation market to private carriers in July 2008.”
Other topics include the development of workers’ compensation premiums, development and application of experience rating, how an Intrastate and Interstate Experience Rating is calculated and future milestones, including pricing programs and the residual market.
