King Changes Name Again
A former West Virginia doctor facing more than 120 medical malpractice lawsuits changed his name for a second time.
Court records in Jefferson Alabama show John King took the action last month. He changed his name to Christopher Wallace Martin in March 2006. This time he asked to have his former name back.
The lawsuits involve allegations from King’s tenure as an orthopedic surgeon at the former Putnam General Hospital. In July, a Putnam County jury found the hospital was negligent when it hired King. The verdict means Putnam General will be a co-defendant.
Charleston Area Medical Center (CAMC) bought the 65-bed hospital from HCA last year and operates it as CAMC Teays Valley.
