Workers’ Comp Insurer AmCOMP Fights Excess Profits Charge in Florida
Florida-based workers compensation insurer AmCOMP Inc. has asked for a hearing to dispute Florida officials’ claim that its profits have been
excessive.
According to AmCOMP’s request for the hearing, the Florida Office of
Insurance Regulation is claiming that AmCOMP realized an excessive profit totaling $11.7 million in 2003, 2004 and 2005.
The insurer wants an administrative judge to hear its case that it does not
owe any excess profits for those years.
