Kentucky’s Murray State University Settles Sexual Harassment Lawsuit
Murray State University in Murray, Kentucky, settled a sexual harassment lawsuit for $170,000 that was filed by the former director of equal opportunity.
Annazette Fields McCane claimed in a federal lawsuit filed in 2005 that the former athletic director, E.W. Dennison, made inappropriate sexual advances toward her.
The Paducah Sun reported Saturday that the school and its insurance carrier paid $160,000 while Dennison and two other defendants paid $10,000.
McCane also accused former MSU Racer Club presidents James Butts and Robbie Rudolph of conspiring with Dennison to defame her in retaliation for filing a sexual harassment complaint.
The settlement agreement said Murray State, Dennison and the other defendants were not admitting guilt or any wrongdoing.
