Industrial Accident in Miami Ends in Fatality
A man working at a Miami recycling plant is dead after being run over by a 40,000-pound front-end loader.
The accident happened July 16 at Downtown Concrete Recycling. A Miami-Dade Fire Rescue says the loader was moving piles of concrete and dirt when the worker was crushed to death.
He was killed instantly.
Authorities didn’t release his name, but the man’s family showed up at the plant and identified him as 55-year-old Pedro Garcia.
The Federal Occupational Safety and Health Administration and Miami-Dade Police are investigating.
