Early Morning Blaze Damages Apartment Building in Alabama
An early morning fire engulfed an apartment building in a Birmingham, Ala. suburb.
Authorities said several people suffered minor injuries after jumping out of second-floor windows.
The fire was reported at about 5 a.m. on Sept. 26 at the Vestavia Parks Apartments off U.S. 31.
It took fire crews about an hour to bring it under control.
Its unclear how many units were damaged. The blaze was the third in the past two days at apartment complexes in the Birmingham area.
The American Red Cross has been providing assistance to all displaced families.
