Several Mississippi Counties Hit by Tornadoes
The National Weather Service says several possible tornadoes were reported in several counties late Tuesday night, damaging homes and knocking down trees and power lines. However, no injuries have been reported.
Forecaster Alan Gerard says officials can’t confirm whether any tornadoes touched down until they can survey the areas. Several tornadoes have been reported near Yazoo City; in Rankin County south of Brandon; in Humphreys County; and also in Newton County.
The Mississippi Emergency Management Agency reported severe weather damage Tuesday night to homes and other buildings across the state. At least eight homes and six mobile homes were damaged, according to a press release from the agency.
