Mississippi Shows Teens Dangers in Rollovers
The Mississippi Department of Transportation will use its safety-demonstration vehicle this week to show students what can happen if they don’t buckle up.
The department uses the vehicle, named Rover, to simulate rollover crashes at a speed of 35 mph.
Transportation officials say the controlled rollovers resonate with students in ways that verbal presentations simply cannot.
The demonstrations are planned for Wednesday at Eupora High School and Saturday at the grand opening celebration of the new Jackson Convention Complex.
