North Carolina Alleges Insurance Agent Staged Accident
North Carolina Insurance Commissioner Wayne Goodwin said insurance agent Robert Gene Killens, 51, of Lumberton, has been arrested in an alleegd accident staging fraud.
According to officials, Killens staged an accident in Lumberton on Feb. 1, 2009. Lumberton Police investigated the initial accident. Killens filed a fraudulent claim with Nationwide Insurance. Killens is a self-employed life, accident and health insurance agent.
Killens is charged with one count of insurance fraud. He was taken to the Robeson County Detention Center and released on a $5,000 unsecured bond.
