FEMA Sends Mobile Homes to Flood Victims in West Virginia Coalfields

The Federal Emergency Management Agency has dispatched mobile homes to West Virginia’s southern coalfields to provide temporary housing for victims of recent flooding.

The mobile homes began arriving in Mingo and Wyoming counties on Wednesday.

Greg Eaton with FEMA’s regional operations center in South Charleston says about 100 families who qualify for the mobile homes have been identified so far.

FEMA is setting up two trailer parks in the Taylorsville area of Mingo County and another park near Hanover in Wyoming County. Another nine trailers will be placed on land owned by homeowners who were displaced by the May floods.
