Kentucky Storm Victims Eligible for FEMA Help for Auto Damage
Residents of Kentucky’s Jefferson County who suffered storm damage to their automobiles during the Aug. 4 severe weather may be eligible for Federal Emergency Management Agency and Commonwealth of Kentucky disaster assistance.
Many individuals suffered damage only to their personally owned vehicles during the storm. FEMA officials said disaster survivors who had damage to their primary personal vehicle can register for disaster assistance if that damage occurred within Jefferson County. Even if individuals are not residents of Jefferson County, but the damage occurred while the vehicle was located in that county, they may be eligible for assistance.
Aid is also available for those whose residences were damaged.
The FEMA registration numbers are 1-800-621-FEMA (3362) or TTY 1-800-462-7585 for the speech- or hearing-impaired.
