Arson Suspected on West Virginia Park Land
Officials believe arson was the cause of a fire on land in West Virginia that’s part of the New River Gorge National River property.
Ranger Frank Sellers says the four-acre fire was reported near Bragg on Sunday afternoon. Crews worked through the evening to put out the blaze.
Sellers says some hot spots remain, and firefighters plan to be on the scene Monday to fully extinguish them.
No structures were damaged and no one was injured. Sellers says National Park Service investigators are still looking into the fire, but suspect it was deliberately set.
