Second Lawsuit Filed in Deaths of Tennessee Construction Workers
A second lawsuit has been filed in the deaths of two construction workers who were killed as they were working on Interstate 75 in East Tennessee.
A truck veered off the interstate on Nov. 9, striking and killing 18-year-old Cheyenne Dakota Burke and 19-year-old Jeffery Brian Thompson II, who were tightening a recently installed cable safety barrier in Anderson County.
The Knoxville News Sentinel reported that Burke’s family filed a $5 million lawsuit Thursday in Anderson County against the driver, James R. Hatfield, and his employer, T&T Trucking.
Thompson’s family also filed a similar lawsuit earlier this month.
