Reward Offered in Georgia Church Fire
A spokesman for Georgia’s Insurance and Fire Safety Commissioner’s Office says a reward of up to $10,000 is being offered for information about a fire that destroyed Central Baptist Church in Dublin.
Spokesman Glenn Allen said that the fire at the church is highly suspicious.
The Rev. Ellis Carswell, pastor of the church, says he suspects Friday’s fire was set because of a fire there earlier this month that was declared to be arson.
Local, state and federal officials launched an investigation Monday into what destroyed the 50-year-old sanctuary.
Allen says the reward is being offered by the insurance commissioner’s office and the Georgia Arson Control Board.
