North Carolina Insurance Adjuster Charged with Fraud
A Mecklenburg County insurance adjuster has been arrested for alleged embezzlement, according to Insurance Commissioner Wayne Goodwin.
Shaun Brown, 32, of Charlotte, has been charged with four counts of embezzlement.
Investigators allege that while Brown was employed as an insurance adjuster by Nationwide Insurance, he altered old claims policies on four different occasions from October 2009 to March 2010, then issued claims checks on the altered policies totaling $14,625 to members of his family.
Brown was arrested on Oct. 14 and placed under a $6,000 secured bond.
