Tornado Damage in South Carolina Tops $1.4 Million
An appraiser says the Nov. 30 tornado that hit downtown Easley, S.C. caused an estimated $1.4 in damage to homes and businesses.
The Greenville News reported that the estimate by Margo Eubanks with the Pickens County Assessor’s Office doesn’t include damage to churches, city property or vehicles. Nor does the estimate include the response to the storm or the cleanup.
Eubanks’ report says 62 homes and businesses were damaged.
She says there’s still time for business owners who suffered damage not covered by insurance to apply for federal loans for repairs.
