Small Earthquake Shakes and Rattles South Carolina County
Officials have reported a small earthquake in Kershaw County.
The U.S. Geological Survey said Friday the 2.3-magnitude quake struck about 1:15 p.m. a few miles outside Camden.
Kershaw County officials say a number of residents reported feeling the ground shake, but no damages have been reported.
The South Carolina Emergency Management Division says about a dozen earthquakes are recorded in the state each year, with about five of them strong enough to be felt by people.
A 2.9-magntiude quake was reported in March in Chesterfield County.
