Hit and run suspect Subdued by Witness in Tennessee
When police reached a Knox County hit and run suspect, they found he had already been run down, scuffled with and pepper sprayed by a witness.
Police responded to a report of a non-injury hit and run crash just after noon on Wednesday. At the same time, a driver called police to say he was following the suspect’s pickup truck into western Knox County. Sheriff’s deputies found suspect Larry Brashears had stopped and witness Peter Bolton had confronted him. When a struggle ensued, officers said Bolton pepper sprayed the 32-year-old Brashears, according to The Knoxville News Sentinel.
Deputies charged Brashears with DUI, leaving the scene of an accident, failure to render aid, violation of the implied consent law, driving without insurance and disorderly conduct.
