Kentucky Car Dealerships on Alert After Wheels Stolen
Car dealerships in central Kentucky are on the alert after wheels worth thousands of dollars have been stolen.
The latest victim was Mike Wilson Chevrolet in Winchester. General manager Tony Schmidt told WKYT-TV that thieves took 32 wheels from seven SUVs and one truck. The station reports the wheels were worth tens of thousands of dollars.
The incident comes after thieves hit the Rod Hatfield dealership across town. Ron Reese, who works at the dealership, says thieves recently stole the tires and rims from four cars on that lot.
And two weeks ago, a dealership in Mount Sterling reported similar thefts.
WKYT reports police are investigating whether the incidents are related.
