No Serious Injuries in Fort Bragg, N.C. Parachute Accident
Officials at Fort Bragg say there were no serious injuries in a parachute accident earlier this week.
The Fayetteville Observer reported a special operations soldier hurt Tuesday appears to have escaped serious injury.
A second soldier was taken to Womack Army Medical Center as a precaution after landing in a tree.
Master Sgt. Eric Hendrix with the Army Special Operations Command says the soldiers are members of a Military Information Support Group who were making routine proficiency jumps from a helicopter.
Hendrix says the special operations soldier was found unconscious. It appeared his parachute opened and officials aren’t sure why he was knocked out. He was taken to the University of North Carolina Hospitals in Chapel Hill as a precaution.
The soldiers’ names have not been released.
