Jewelry Thieves Strike Homes in Atlanta Suburbs
Authorities say jewelry thieves struck two homes in north Fulton County neighborhoods within one week, stealing $70,000 in gold and other precious metals from one family.
Homeowner Rick Vaughn tells CBS Atlanta that his wife came home from a vacation to find $8,000 in gold and other valuables gone.
A few miles away, members of another family told police that someone broke into their house while they were at dinner Sunday night and took $70,000 in jewelry.
Milton police Capt. Shawn McCarty said police have a few leads in both cases but no arrests have been made.
Milton is about 25 miles north of Atlanta.
