Georgia Residents Say Thieves Aided by Jet Noise
Police tell WSB-TV they are investigating a string of home break-ins at the Pine Crest subdivision in Forest Park, Ga. Residents there say their close proximity to Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport makes them a prime target for thieves.
Resident Cheryl Stokes says burglars are committing their crimes when airplanes pass by so they won’t be heard.
She says the noise from aircraft is so loud that “half of the time you’re not going to hear them bust in the doors.”
Clayton County police Lt. Tina Daniel said officers are working closely with other jurisdictions to identify suspects in the break-ins.
