About 45 Displaced After Metro Atlanta Fire
About 45 people were displaced from their homes after fire roared through a Marietta, Ga., apartment complex.
Authorities tell CBS Atlanta the blaze began shortly before midnight Sunday at the Ridge Point Apartments.
Fire officials say at least 10 units were damaged. No injuries were reported.
Marietta fire officials said in a statement early Monday that an initial investigation found the fire started in the bedroom of a second-floor unit. Fire officials said the tenant in that apartment tried to extinguish the blaze but was unsuccessful.
Ruben Brown of the American Red Cross says workers are providing assistance to the residents.
The cause of the fire was under investigation early Monday.
