Thieves Steal Cooking Oil from Georgia Chicken Restaurant
Police tell WXIA-TV that two people early Saturday morning backed a truck up to the 55-gallon drums where employees dump used cooking oil from the Big Chic restaurant. Authorities say the suspects used a hose to siphon the oil from three drums.
Surveillance video shows a moving van with the words “Pacific Moving and Storage” on the side of the truck.
Big Chic owner Roger Fuller said he sells the used oil for recycling at $1.57 a gallon. He said it can be used as fuel in diesel engines, and the stolen oil cost him about $300.
