Five Students Slightly Hurt in Tennessee School Bus Crash
Five students have been slightly injured when the McMinn County, Tenn., school bus they were riding was involved in a traffic collision.
Police said 18-year-old Benjamin Schultz was driving his pickup truck behind the bus Monday afternoon when he pulled out to pass it in a no-passing zone on a county road. The truck struck a sport utility vehicle coming from the opposite direction and was knocked into the side of the school bus, according to the Chattanooga Times Free Press.
Two children from the bus were taken to Athens Community Hospital by ambulance and three others were taken by private vehicles. Schultz and the driver of the SUV were also taken to the hospital.
Police cited Schultz on reckless driving and improper passing violations.
