Renowned South Carolina Eatery Sued for Wrongful Death

A renowned Charleston restaurant has been named as a defendant in a wrongful death case.

The Post and Courier of Charleston reports a lawsuit seeking unspecified damages was brought Wednesday against the restaurant Husk by the family of Quentin Miller of Mount Pleasant, S.C.

Miller died in a fiery crash on the Ravenel Bridge between Charleston and Mount Pleasant last December. The suit alleges the restaurant was negligent is allowing then-assistant manager Adam Joseph Burnell to drink on premises after hours. Burnell’s car hit the victim’s car from behind.

Burnell is not named as a defendant.

The restaurant says it is deeply saddened but cannot comment on the lawsuit.

Husk last year was named Best New Restaurant in America by Bon Appetit magazine.
