West Virginia County Flood Mitigation Project Continues
Three properties in Wood County, W. Va., will be inspected for asbestos as part of an ongoing flood mitigation project.
The county bought the flood-prone properties in Happy Valley and plans to demolish them.
The Parkesburg News and Sentinel reports that the County Commission on Monday accepted a bid from Media, Pa.-based Accredited Environmental Technologies to conduct the asbestos inspections.
Wood County received $344,050 from the federal Hazard Mitigation Grant Program for the flood project’s latest phase.
