Tennessee Funeral Home Destroyed by Fire
A blaze has destroyed a funeral home in Middle Tennessee.
Fire officials say a passer-by reported seeing flames coming out of the roof at the Sellars Funeral Home in Lebanon early Sunday morning. Fire Chief Chris Dowell said it took crews more than an hour to get the blaze under control, and they were still putting out hot spots at midmorning.
Funeral home owner Judd Sellars told WKRN-TV that he will rebuild. He says he is thankful that no bodies were inside the facility when the blaze occurred.
Dowell says there is speculation that the fire began due to lightning or electrical problems, but the cause is under investigation and nothing has been ruled out.
Sellars said the blaze caused more than $1 million in damage.
