Tennessee Traffic Camera Lawsuit Dismissed
A federal court has dismissed a lawsuit over traffic cameras in Bluff City, Tenn.
According to the Kingsport Times-News, U.S. District Court Judge Ronnie Greer last month determined there was insufficient evidence to support a claim of conspiracy and threw out the lawsuit.
It had been filed by motorists Chris Cawood and Jonathan Kelly Proffitt and named Bluff City, its mayor and American Traffic Solutions as defendants. The plaintiffs asked for $6 million and requested the case be declared a class action lawsuit.
Cawood and Proffitt had received speeding tickets for traveling more than 10 miles over the posted 45 mph limit.
