Contractor Accused of Fraud in 2009 Arrested in Mississippi
Mississippi’s attorney general says a contractor charged with fraud in 2009 has been caught in Hinds County after investigators learned he was living in Edwards and looking for home repair work in Louisiana after Hurricane Isaac.
Jim Hood says 47-year-old Alvin Dennis Hall ran into some woods as investigators approached him in Edwards on Tuesday and was caught after a three-hour manhunt. He was booked into the Madison County Detention Center.
A Madison County grand jury accused Hall in 2009 of taking $10,000 from a Madison homeowner without doing the work he was hired for. The charges carry up to 10 years and $10,000 in fines.
Edwards is about 16 miles west of Vicksburg.
