19 Deadly Crashes Reported in Georgia During Holiday Period
Georgia law enforcement authorities say 19 fatal crashes occurred in the state during the recent Thanksgiving holiday travel period.
Department of Public Safety spokesman Gordy Wright reported the numbers early Monday, after the 102-hour Thanksgiving holiday travel period ended late Sunday night.
State troopers say they investigated a total of 622 traffic crashes between 6 p.m. Wednesday and late Sunday night. Those wrecks resulted in 263 injuries.
Authorities say alcohol is suspected as a contributing factor in four of the 11 traffic deaths investigated by troopers.
