North Carolina Troopers Write 13,667 Speeding Tickets in Week
State troopers wrote more than 13,000 tickets for speeding during a week-long operation targeting motorists on North Carolina highways.
The N.C. Highway Patrol ended its Operation Slow Down campaign on Easter.
During the campaign, the patrol said its troopers issued more than 26,153 citations for numerous traffic violations, including 13,667 speed-related charges.
The patrol wrote 2,335 tickets for seatbelt violations, 685 tickets for driving while impaired and 534 tickets for child restraint violations.
