North Carolina Marking 20th Anniversary of Seatbelt Campaign
The Governor’s Highway Safety Program is marking the 20th anniversary of its “Click It or Ticket” campaign with a renewed effort to get all North Carolina motorists and passengers to buckle up.
Program officials have scheduled a news conference on Thursday at the National Guard Armory in Elizabeth City.
Authorities say that since the Governor’s Highway Safety Program launched the campaign, the number of reported crashes, fatalities and injuries involving unbelted passengers has dropped dramatically. But they say there’s been a decline in seatbelt usage in recent years.
