2 Mississippi Residents Accused of Running Chop Shop
The case of a stolen SUV reported in July has ended with the vehicle being found in pieces and a pair of Lucedale, Miss., residents being arrested and accused of running a chop shop from their home.
The Mississippi Press reports the home owners, 30-year-old Robbie Gill and 28-year-old Joannie Gill, were arrested and charged.
Robbie Gill is charged with operating a vehicle chop shop, grand larceny and possession of a vehicle with an altered VIN.
Joannie Gill was charged with receiving stolen property worth more than $500.
After obtaining a search warrant, investigators from the George County Sheriff’s Office and members of the FBI Safe Streets Task Force searched the property. The owner of the stolen vehicle was brought in to help identify the vehicle.
