Mississippi Man Busted When Stolen Items Show Up on CraigsList
Ocean Springs, Miss., police have arrested a 20-year-old man on charges of auto burglary after some stolen items showed up on Craigslist.
Police Capt. William Jackson says Jimmy Rudolph Smith of Ocean Springs was arrested Monday. Smith is charged with auto burglary and possession of a firearm by a convicted felon.
Jackson tells The Mississippi Press that detectives were investigating several auto burglaries in Ocean Springs dating back to Dec. 2.
He says detectives tracked down some of the stolen property through Craigslist and that let them to Smith.
Jackson says police arranged a meeting with Smith and verified that the property was listed as stolen from several reports that were filed with the police department.
Smith was being held in the local jail pending an initial court appearance.
