Mariners Adds New Florida Regional Manager
Calif.-based Mariners General Insurance Group announced the addition of Richard (Rick) Mallard effective immediately. Mallard, a 34-year veteran of the marine and aviation industries, will assume all operations of the company’s regional office in Bradenton, Florida.
Mallard’s hire in the Southeast follows the addition earlier this year of San Francisco-area industry leader Carolyn Pounds, who currently oversees Mariners’ new regional services in the Bay Area.
Mariners continues to expand its operations around the country – both organically and from acquiring companies with strong books of business in existing areas as well as regions not currently served, including the Mid Atlantic and Pacific Northwest, which reflect late-2014 expansion targets.
An avid and lifelong recreational boater and career insurance professional, Mallard, a native Floridian, comes to Mariners General Insurance Group having previously managed his own insurance agency with a multi-million-dollar book of business. He has significant experience in the aviation industry, has a strong navigational background, and has always remained well-connected to the Florida boating community. He owns in-state licenses as both an agent (2-20) and adjuster (5-20).
