Insurer Donates to Tennessee Construction Safety Research Center
A company that provides insurance for contractors has given a University of Tennessee, Knoxville, center dedicated to construction safety research $20,000 to continue its work.
Executive Director Ed Taylor says the funds will help the center fund impromptu projects. He says the gift from Amerisure Insurance Co. represents the UK Construction Industry Research and Policy Center’s first partnership with a private company.
The center conducts research to reduce injuries and fatalities and is based in the UT College of Business Administration.
Amerisure provides workers’ compensation and general liability insurance for many construction contractors.
