911 Mix-up Sends Fire Crews to Wrong City in West Virginia
Cabell County emergency authorities are investigating a 911 mix-up that sent fire crews to the wrong city.
Media outlets report that 911 dispatchers sent fire crews to Davis Street in Huntington early Saturday after receiving a report of a house fire. The fire was about 5 miles away on Davis Road in Barboursville.
Records show the mix-up delayed firefighters’ response to the fire by about four minutes.
The homeowner and his dog escaped the fire.
Cabell County 911 director Mike Davis tells media outlets that the mix-up is under investigation.
