School Collecting Donations for West Virginia Tornado Survivors
A Mercer County school has started a collection drive for a family whose West Virginia home was leveled by a tornado.
Media outlets report Spanishburg School is collecting monetary donations, gift cards and household goods for Daniel and Ashley Radford and their 4-year-old son.
A tornado with maximum winds of 105 mph touched down Tuesday night between Matoaka and Spanishburg. Ashley Radford and her son were treated at a hospital and released, but their home was destroyed.
Ashley Radford says the family had no insurance.
