Florida Man’s Plane Mistaken for Scrap by Neighbor
A central Florida man thought his engineless experimental plane had been stolen. But he declined to press charges after learning that his neighbor had taken the aircraft thinking it was scrap.
Investigators say Scott Lyons reported the plane missing last week.
The Daytona Beach News-Journal reports that the next day, Lyons learned what had happened to the plane. He told Volusia County Sheriff’s deputies that his neighbor had taken the 20-foot Kolb experimental aluminum plane away because he thought it was junk. The plane had been stored near his house for several months.
No charges were file.
