Gulfport Closer to Fixing Isaac-Damaged Fishing Piers
Gulfport, Miss., is getting closer to fixing fishing piers damaged by Hurricane Isaac in 2012.
WLOX-TV reports that a resolution to hire J.E. Borries Inc. is on the City Council agenda for Tuesday.
The company submitted a bid of nearly $850,000 to fix the Combs, Moses, Urie and Westside piers.
Under the contract before the council, the contractor will need four months to fix three of the piers, and an additional month to fix Westside Pier.
A city spokesman says all four will be repaired by Memorial Day.
