California’s SCIF Appoints Obertello Vice President
Nancy Obertello has been appointed vice president and member of the Executive Committee of State Compensation Insurance Fund (SCIF).
Obertello brings more than a quarter century of workers’ compensation experience to her new post. She joined the State Fund’s Santa Rosa District Office as a claims adjuster in 1976. She subsequently served as Assistant Claims manager and in 1987 she was promoted to Claims/Rehabilitation Operations manager in San Francisco. In this assignment she coordinated State Fund’s claims operations statewide.
In 1991, Obertello was appointed Business Services manager and in 1997 was promoted to Insurance Services manager. In 2000, she was named Underwriting manager. As Underwriting manager, Obertello implemented programs and systems which enhanced operational efficiency.
