WCIRB Releases Anticipated EQECAT Terrorism Study
On Jan. 17, 2003, Calif.’s Workers’ Compensation Insurance Rating Bureau’s (WCIRB) Governing Committee authorized the WCIRB to
pursue the development of estimates of potential workers’ compensation terrorism losses for California.
To complete the study, the WCIRB contracted with EQECAT,
a nationally recognized catastrophe modeling firm. The results of the study are contained in the WCIRB Bulletin.
As indicated in the Bulletin, insurers may reference the Bulletin in support of company TRIA rate filings with the California Department of Insurance.
