The Hartford Provides Payment Relief to Customers in Calif. Impacted by Recent Wildfires
The Hartford Financial Services Group will continue to insure homeowners, automobile and commercial insurance customers who have been affected by the recent wild fires in California if they are temporarily unable to make their insurance payments.
Customers in designated areas will continue to receive regularly scheduled premium notices, but The Hartford will temporarily suspend cancellation of affected customers for nonpayment of premium. The cancellation suspension period is scheduled to last until Nov. 25.
Affected customers who have difficulty making payments are urged to call one of the following numbers:
— Personal automobile or homeowners insurance purchased through The Hartford’s AARP program – 1-800-423-6789;
— Personal automobile or homeowners insurance purchased through an independent agent – 1-800-624-5578;
— Business insurance customers – 1-866-467-8730
To help families and businesses return to normal as fast as possible, The Hartford has deployed insurance adjusters to respond quickly to damage claims resulting from the wild fires. Additionally, the company’s representatives at its toll-free, 24-hour claim number are prepared for additional customer calls resulting from the wild fires.
The Hartford’s policyholders can report damages from the fires by calling 1-800-243-5860, any time of the day or night.
Robert Wilkey, The Hartford’s assistant vice president of catastrophe claim management, advised that, “the personal safety of customers is the primary concern and we urge residents of the affected areas to continue to follow safety directives issued by public authorities.”
Cancellation suspension applies to customers affected by the wild fires in the following areas of California: Dulzura, Escondido, Mira Loma, Ramona, Simi Valley and Temecula.
