Ashcraft Joins Bickmore Risk Services as Consultant
Mark Ashcraft, former manager of the State of California’s Department of Industrial Relations, Office of Self Insurance Plans (DIR-OSIP), recently joined Sacramento-based Bickmore Risk Services (BRS) as a consultant for workers’ compensation self-insurance plans. Ashcraft brings to BRS more than 30 years of self-insurance experience. The addition of Ashcraft to BRS is a direct response to the overwhelming desire of private businesses to form self-insurance groups amid rising workers’ compensation costs.
Ashcraft’s role as a consultant at BRS will include consulting on the formation of private self-insurance groups (SIGs) and serving as an advisor for the evaluation of workers’ compensation legislation and regulation. He will also be responsible for analyzing feasibility studies for various industry groups, consulting on application filings, and reviewing group formation requirements. He will also serve as an expert witness on behalf of BRS and the self-insurance industry.
Prior to joining BRS, Ashcraft served in the DIR-OSIP for more than 30 years in various capacities. He has also served as a Director’s Designee to the Self Insurers’ Security Fund (SISF) Board of Trustees.
